Georgia Therapeutic Services and…Shoplifting
What is shoplifting?
Shoplifting is a common term for theft or stealing of any kind from a retail store. It is generally defined as taking merchandise from a retail store without paying for it or without intending to pay for it.
According to NASP, more than $13 billion worth of goods are stolen from retailers each year. That’s more than $35 million per day.
There are approximately 27 million shoplifters (or 1 in 11 people) in our nation today. More than 10 million people have been caught shoplifting in the last five years.

Georgia Therapeutic Services provides assessments, educational classes and therapy for persons who have issues with shoplifting as well as for those who have received formal charges for shoplifting.
Attorneys: Strengthen your cases and at the same time assist your clients by having your client obtain a clinical assessment for their shoplifting and, if necessary seek help by addressing their urge to shoplift and participate in our classes prior to court dates. This will apply direct implications and afford the case to be better adjudicated. Georgia Therapeutic Services has been working with attorneys for the past 10 years with much success in assisting legal outcomes to cases through validated assessments and if needed enrollment in our classes which strengthens and improves the likely-hood of winning the case and fundamentally improving the quality of life for our clients.
